Consultations at The Gap are available on Thursday mornings. Clinic hours are 8:45am to 12:40pm. Appointments are of 55 minutes (a 51 minute session + billing and re-booking time) duration. Should you prefer you are able to book a session via Telehealth (i.e. Video Call using Skype); Telehealth sessions are predominantly offered during school hours on Monday to Thursday. If you are looking for a later appointment we do offer one after-hours consultation per week via Telehealth on Monday at 5pm.

Telehealth sessions are at a fee of $155 (when held during business hours and when booked as Telehealth). After-hours consultations are $199.

How do I book an appointment?
We will contact you to book an appointment once we have received the required forms (see forms below) providing us with your details and indicating that you have understood the service we provide and wish to proceed with your referral. If you have any difficulty with this process please contact us and we will assist you to streamline the process.
Send your completed forms by email: [email protected] or post: PO Box 50, The Gap, Q 4061. If you have any difficulty scanning the completed paperwork a clear photograph will suffice. Please bring a copy of the originals with you, together with a copy of your referral (if being referred by a GP), to your first appointment. Without a copy of your GP referral we cannot bulk bill you.

Do I need a referral? What will it cost?
- The fee for a standard (i.e. during business hours) consultation, as either a private client (e.g. fully self funded or claiming private health) or as a GP referral, at The Gap Clinic is $160.
- If you wish to claim a Medicare rebate you will need a referral. With a valid referral from your General Practitioner (under the Medicare Better Access Initiative; which is the most common form of GP referral) you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $96.65 for an appointment of 50+ minutes duration. This can be processed for you at the time of payment.
- You do not need a referral to claim private health rebates or if you are covering the full fee without claiming any rebates. Private health rebates may apply; it is best that you check directly with your health fund as funds and personal circumstances can vary.
- If you have been referred under Work Cover or under CTP funding the agency must approve the service before sessions can commence. Once the funding is approved the agency is invoiced directly and there will be no fee payable directly by you.
- If you are using NDIS funding to access services please contact us to discuss your needs and receive a quote for the requested service.
- If you have been advised by Open Arms (formerly VVCS) that you have been assigned Janelle Middleton for counselling your referral process is already complete and you will be contacted shortly.
- Fees for home-visit consultations available upon request.
