During COVID-19 all clients have the option of attending sessions via Telehealth (i.e. via video-call (Skype), or where video-call is not an option, by phone. However, we will only accept new clients on the understanding that at least the majority of Telehealth sessions will be conducted via video-call (as opposed to phone call). Medicare, private health funds, and most third party providers have made changes to standard eligibility to allow for Telehealth as an option. Session days and times vary under Telehealth; however, generally sessions will be on Tuesday or Thursday.
Before attending, an in-clinic appointment please review the following information:
- You will need to reschedule your in-clinic appointment if you are required to isolate/quarantine.
- You are asked to reschedule your in-clinic appointment if you are experiencing any cold, flu or COVID-19 like symptoms (such as any of the following symptoms: cough, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, fever, shortness of breath, loss of sense of smell, or muscle aches and joint pain, etc.). If you arrive unwell we will not proceed with the appointment and a cancellation fee will apply. At Treehouse Psychology in-clinic appointments and Telehealth appointments are not interchangeable so you will need to contact us to reschedule your appointment time even if you are open to attending by Telehealth.
- As a healthcare setting we also asked that if you are a close contact you reschedule your appointment. You are welcome to reschedule as Telehealth appointment while you a Close Contact.
When attending a face to face consultation please ensure that you are following our safety procedures in our clinics:
- As a healthcare setting you are required to wear a mask within our premises, including during your session, (as will your Psychologist) during Amber and Red Levels of the Queensland Health COVID19 'Traffic Light' Advice. When masks are an in-clinic requirement, if you are not comfortable wearing a mask you are welcome to choose a Telehealth consultation (via Video Call e.g. Skype).
- Sanitise your hands when you arrive at the clinic.
- Please observe the social distancing requirements.
- Only bring who is necessary to your appointment.
- Do not arrive overly early for your appointment to minimise your time at the clinic.
- Please leave your Psychologist to open and close the door for you to minimise contact points.
- Please bring your own tissues (to avoid multiple people handling the tissue box); and we respectfully ask that you take your used tissues away with you (to reduce possible contaminants in the room).
- For child clients, please bring crayons/coloured pencils/felt tip pens with you to the session to make them available for possible use without the need for sharing resources.
- We will be strictly adhering to the allocated 55 minute appointment times to reduce client crossover at the clinic.
- If attending at one of our clinics located within a GP practice, you are also asked to abide by any further requests stipulated by the relevant Practice re. entering/while on their premises .
Information about how to progress your referral and our fee information remain current and the relevant information can be found via the clinic tab for your preferred clinic (the clinic you wish to attend if/when attending in-clinic) which you can access via these links: Kenmore or The Gap.
